Kitchen Explorations
They are well on the way! With just 3 pattern repeats to go, the first of my Kitchen Explorations towels is nearly finished. I’m dreaming of the next towel pattern for my 6 towel warp.
Here are the details for this project:
Yarn: UKI 10/2 mercerized cotton
Warp:
- Navy #15 – 1778 yards
- Desert Sand #150 – 1666 yards
- Grotto #81
- Purple Passion #142
- Willow Green #57
- Winter Green #136
- Light Turquoise #2
- Deep Turquoise #42
EPI: 24
PPI: 27
8 shaft Loom Width: 20.5″
10 treadles
Threading:
Total 492 ends (includes 2 floating ends for selvedge). Warp Length: 7 yards.
Sequence: float, repeat 14 ends navy, 14 ends desert sand – end with 14 ends navy, float.
Point twill
Tie up for Kitchen Explorations #1 is 1-1-1-1-2-2 right twill.
I wove 12 picks plain weave before beginning the pattern to allow for hemming. 26″ of pattern, then I’ll weave another 12 picks plain weave at the end.
Here’s a pic of the nearly completed #1.
I’m thinking already about #2. Same color sequences, but with wider color bands.
