Peacock Feathers and Afternoon Tea… excuse me?
Sounds a little strange, but these are just a few of the things I’ve been up to lately. Have you seen the Spring Summer 2012 edition of Knitty? There’s a great shawl called Afternoon Tea – designed by Helen Stewart, it would make a perfect showcase for Peacock Feathers. Peacock Feathers?
…and so I have the privilege of introducing you to the Fiber Seed on May 12th! I have the luxury of working with a team of very talented people. One of these talents is a young woman with a fabulous sense of color, and a plan to dye yarn in colors she sees in her dreams. Her name is Lindsay English, and she is the proud owner of a new yarn company specializing in sock weight yarns dyed with earth friendly products. Join us on Saturday May 12th for the first public unveiling of Sprout, the premier yarn line debuting from The Fiber Seed. My rendition of Afternoon Tea was knit with Sprout in colorway Peacock Feathers. Aptly named, the combination of rich turquoise, chestnut and purple looks reminds me of those beautiful fans of feathers. You won’t want to miss Lindsay’s creations!
I’ve had a chance to work on loads of projects the past few weeks. There isn’t a surface in the shop (or at home for that matter) that isn’t covered in yarn! What fun I’ve been having – knitting, crocheting, weaving… and even a hysterical attempt at spinning… but that’s for another discussion.Tags: Fiber Seed, Knitting
